Talk about a major score: Oprah Winfrey may have just taped the first-ever interview with Michael Jackson's children. Randy Jackson (Michael's brother, not the Idol judge) revealed on Twitter that Oprah was filming at his mother Katherine's home, where the children have lived since Michael's death. However, Randy isn't too happy about Winfrey's visit. He believes that Michael would not have approved.
"I found out Oprah was at our family home, my stomach ached and it still hasn't gone away," Randy tweeted on Tuesday night. "I know how Oprah feels about my brother and family. i also know that he would not have wanted this. In fact, she is the last person on earth he would want around his children."
Wait a minute -- didn't Michael Jackson sit down with Oprah Winfrey in 1993 for one of his final on-camera interviews? That implies trust, right? Randy thinks that Winfrey turned on his brother during the molestation trial, virtually condemning Michael by doing a show on pedophilia. "That was no coincidence," he writes.
Katherine Jackson obviously feels differently. Although Winfrey has yet to make an official statement, E! Online says that Michael's mother invited Oprah into her home for an exclusive interview, in order to give her "the real story" about the Jackson family today.
So we're pretty sure Oprah talked to Katherine -- but did she actually speak to Prince, Paris and Blanket (now 13, 12 and 8) about their late father? Randy seems to think she did. And to be honest, we have mixed feelings about that. On the one hand, the kids have reportedly been adjusting well to their new life out of the spotlight, and it would be unfortunate if Oprah jeopardized their shot at normality. On the other hand, that moment at the funeral where Paris said goodbye to her father was one of the most touching things we've ever seen on TV. It would be nice to learn more about the Michael that his kids remember so fondly.
