Holy Hairpiece! We Are Loving Oprah's Massive Afro Wig

The star wears a 3.5-lb. wig on the cover of O: The Oprah Magazine to open a discussion about hair

There's big hair and then there's Oprah Winfrey on the September cover of O: The Oprah Magazine!

To open a discussion about hair -- in a major way -- the star donned a massive 3.5-lb. afro wig for the cover shoot, and promoted the over-the-top look all over her social media channels.

"Just revealed this new cover of O magazine - 1 of my faves ever - Let's talk about HAIR!," she tweeted. And, "Love this cover so much, I'm making it my new avatar."

(It's not the first time Oprah has gotten attention for her hair on the cover of her magazine -- she let her locks go natural last year, and sparked major debate.)

In the issue, Oprah's hairstylist describes bringing the wig to the photo shoot in bubble wrap and a custom pink travel box with stand, according to The Huffington Post.

Also sounding off on the unmissable hair look? Oprah BFF Gayle King, who made a Lion King crack, and the mag's creative director Adam Glassman, who said, "Your hair looks like Chaka Khan and Diana Ross combined," according to HuffPo.

We're with Oprah -- we absolutely love the massive mane! Now bring on the inevitable memes!

What do you think about Oprah's afro wig?
