While promoting her new tell-all book, Oprah: A Biography, Kitty Kelley claims that she has unraveled many secrets in Oprah Winfrey's life -- including a hush-hush romance between Winfrey, 56, and John Tesh. Now, Tesh has confirmed that their romantic relationship did, in fact, happen.
According to the Associated Press, the former Entertainment Tonight anchor said he and Winfrey dated while both were working at a local news station on Nashville, Tenn.
In the book, Kelley claims that Tesh, 57, and Winfrey, 56, were so serious about one another that they lived together, but that the reason behind their split was that Tesh could no longer handle being in an interracial relationship.
Meanwhile, Tesh says the two remain friends today, and he has not elaborated on the reason behind his split with Winfrey. The TV mogul herself has not yet read Kelley's book (which includes speculation that Vernon Winfrey is not Oprah's biological father), and has not commented on her former relationship with Tesh.
