It's going to be the biggest show EVERRRRRR!
Oprah Winfrey has decided to end her talk show reign in 2011, after 25 years on the air. "The last day will be Sept. 9, 2011," O's spokesperson said Thursday. "She will speak about it on [Friday's] live show."
It's hard to imagine our afternoons without Oprah, who's been a television staple since her first episode aired in 1986, but sources say that the talk-show queen is moving on to bigger things. Oprah is reportedly planning to launch her own cable channel called OWN, The Oprah Winfrey Network.
"We have the greatest respect for Oprah and wish her nothing but the best in her future endeavors," CBS TV Distribution, which currently airs Oprah, said in a statement. "We know that anything she turns her hand to will be a great success. We look forward to working with her for the next several years and hopefully afterwards as well."
Can you even imagine what Oprah's final show is going to be like? We're sure it's going to be a star-studded, tear-jerking event like no other.
