Through her talk show, book club, myriad philanthropies, angel network and magazine, Oprah Winfrey has a profound influence on American popular culture. She's your best friend, your sister, your taskmaster and your role model. She knows when to be serious and when to have fun. She's Oprah and we love her. Here she is, captured in glowing, sheer corals punctuated with a classic smoky eye. We asked iVillage makeup artist Deborah Grayson how to get Oprah's vibrant look.
Step 1 Smooth an oil-free moisturizer over your entire face.
Step 2 Dot tiny amounts of yellow-orange cream concealer under your eyes. Blend well with your fingers. If you're not sure what shade to use, try one that is a shade-and-a-half lighter than your foundation.
Step 3 Apply a honey-brown toned foundation to the chin and the area around the mouth, blending up to the cheeks, under the eyes and upward, covering the entire forehead. Use a light touch so the foundation spreads evenly.
Step 4 Apply loose translucent powder to your face, paying special attention to the area under the eyes, down the center of the nose and chin.
Step 5 Lightly apply a golden-coral powder blush to the cheekbones and blend upward using a large, fan-shaped brush.
Step 6 Brush a smoky gray-black powder eye shadow across your entire lid.
Step 7 Apply black liquid liner directly across the entire lash line, beginning at the inner eye and extending just slightly past the outer corner.
Step 8 Across the lower lash line, apply a black pencil eye liner, including the inner rims of the eyes.
Step 9 Curl lashes and apply two coats of black mascara to both the upper and lower lashes.
Step 10 Apply a sheer coral-colored lip gloss to set off this pretty look.
