Another option is to road trip after dark. Timing your drive with your baby’s sleep schedule can make traveling a breeze: no meltdowns or fussing, just miles of open road and sweet silence. But just because it makes for a peaceful ride doesn’t mean it’s right for everybody. If your husband is a night owl or you, a morning lark, you may be able to get lots of driving done while your precious cargo slumbers. If you and your hubs are both sleep-deprived to begin with, it’s not worth the risk, says Rivoli. Let your internal clock guide you.
