chime in nowThe best gifts are always the homemade ones, especially if you pick projects that don't take all season to pull together (hint: skip the baby quilt). Bonus: most of these gifts are inexpensive or even free to make!
DIY Gauzey Swaddle Blankets
The tried and true swaddling method + nifty, lightweight gauze fabric = the best, trendiest swaddling blanket around. This easy-to-make option will keep your baby cozy (and you at the top of the "best mom ever" list!).
How To Do It: Start with four square feet of gauze fabric (easily found at fabric stores in white...feel free to dye the fabric if you want a pop of color). Cut off the raw edges and fold the clean edge over about 1/4 inch, pinning if necessary. Sew down the edges and hand-stitch a cute, heart shape on the corner and you've got yourself a pretty little blanket. Full instructions on Delia Creates.
