Why We Love It: Silhouettes don’t have to be black and white! This updated take on the classic art style is so fun. Plus, we love the idea of making a new one each year to track how fast (too fast!) your kids grow and change.
What You’ll Need: A 12” x 12” canvas, acrylic paint, vinyl and a foam brush.
How to DIY: Paint the canvas white and let dry. Take profile photos of your kids. Use a photo-editing program to size the photos to fit the canvas and then print the photos on printer paper. Trace a line around the profile with a Sharpie and cut out along that line. Trace these photo templates on the back of a sheet of vinyl and cut out. Tack your vinyl cutout on the center of the canvas and paint over it with two or three coats of your desired paint color using a foam brush. Let the paint dry, remove the vinyl and you’re done!
