What it is: The British Invasion is happening yet again, except this time its with baby names, not The Beatles. (Think: Emily and Robert.) All these baby names are spoken for, yes? Not so! Consider giving your child a hip, obscure Old English name. For boys, Laura Wattenberg, author of The Baby Name Wizard (Amazon, $12.99), likes Ramsey, which means “Raven’s island.” For girls, Marigold is a cute option that also comes with a great nickname -- Goldie.
More Overlooked Old English Names: Calder, Fern, Ellery.
