Quick fix: To fix a soup or stew, add some water or an acid such as vinegar or citrus to cut the salty flavor. Potatoes can also help absorb some of the salt. Peel a potato, cut it into a few pieces and add to your dish. Simmer for twenty minutes, but remember to remove the potato pieces before serving.
