Paparazzo Chris Guerra was killed on New Year's Day during a car accident while he was trailing Justin Bieber's Ferrari, though it wasn't even Bieber behind the wheel of the car.
TMZ reports that Guerra had been following Bieber's vehicle near Los Angeles' Getty Center when the Ferrari was pulled over by the California Highway Patrol. Guerra crossed the street to try to take pictures of the incident, but was sent back to his car by officers. When he was crossing Sepulveda Blvd., he was hit by oncoming traffic.
It was later revealed by TMZ that it was actually Bieber's friend, 19-year-old rapper Lil Twist, who was driving the vehicle. He and Biebs had been hanging out at the Four Seasons in Beverly Hills earlier in the day, but for some reason Twist decided to take out Bieber's car. The duo posted photos of themselves drinking champagne together in Mexico on New Year's Eve.
Paparazzi problems are nothing new to the world of celebrities, and this entire incident set pop star Miley Cyrus off on Twitter.
"Hope this paparazzi/JB accident brings on some changes in '13 Paparazzi are dangerous! Wasn't Princess Di enough of a wake up call?!" she tweeted. "It is unfair for anyone to put this on to Justin's conscious as well! This was bound to happen! Your mom teaches u when your a child not to play in the street! The chaos that comes with the paparazzi acting like fools makes it impossible for anyone to make safe choices."
Guerra had been following Bieber's car all day. The 20-something had been working in Las Vegas at a casino before he moved to Los Angeles in March to become a photographer, TMZ reports. He had been exclusively following Bieber up until his death.
