Slow Clap: Canceled Wedding Dinner Donated to Feed the Homeless

We'd barely be able to leave the house, but this bride and her family did something special.

Warning: This story will give you goosebumps. After learning their daughter Tamara's wedding was being called off a mere 40 days prior to the wedding, Atlanta couple Carol and Willie Fowler did something incredible. They donated the entire reception dinner to the homeless.

According to an on-air interview with local radio station WBUR, Carol reached out to officials at the charity Hosea Feed the Homeless, who "thought it was a prank call because it was such an amazing offering." The group worked to coordinate a four-course dinner at the Villa Christina reception hall and invited local homeless families, making a point to include children who have likely never had the opportunity to sit down to a fancy meal. The kids got a table-etiquette lesson out of it too.

As for Tamara? She showed up to what would've been her own reception. And she was, according to her mother, "very delighted to see and know that others had an opportunity to enjoy something rather than just allow it to go to waste."
