Could Paris Hilton's latest legal woes put a damper on her social life? According to some Las Vegas sources, the socialite -- who is usually one of the city's most sought-after names -- may not be so welcome at the clubs anymore.
"Because Vegas nightclubs are under so much scrutiny right now, I don't know how welcome she would be," a club manager, who has booked Hilton appearances in the past, told People.com. "Considering she's busted for cocaine, people might assume that she's going to the club either to use coke or she's already on coke, and no club wants to be associated with that."
The starlet can give as many lame excuses as she wants ("I thought the cocaine was gum!"), but reputable Vegas establishments don't want to take the chance of ruining their good name.
"A club would never be allowed to book Paris for an appearance right now," another exec said. "A club would want to book her because of the press it would generate right now, but it would never happen because no one wants to jeopardize gaming licensing or liquor licensing."
In Nevada, liquor licenses are closely watched by gambling regulators. Clubs take the risk of being shut down if drugs are found on the premises.
In addition to her social life, the ban may be affecting the starlet's bank account. In the past, she could have earned as much as $125,000 to simply show up somewhere. Now, an insider says, she would still be allowed into the club, but she'd have to go through the standard security check like everyone else -- and she might even have to pay them to let her in!
