Party of Five star Jeremy London recently experienced a harrowing incident so surreal, it must have felt as though it came from a fictional TV drama.
According to RadarOnline.com, London, 37, was allegedly kidnapped by a man who had a small hand gun and forced him to smoke illegal drugs and engage in other dangerous activities.
London's nearly five-hour nightmare started on the evening of June 10: allegedly, the actor was changing a tire on his vehicle near Palm Springs, Calif., when a man forcibly put him in it. Sergeant Steve Douglas told Radar that the suspect "drove (London) around in his own vehicle, while terrorizing him at gun point."
A "stunned" London somehow managed to get away around 3 a.m.; he then told the authorities he was "forced to smoke dope and then purchase booze and hand it out in a gang area of Palm Springs." London's car was later found in a neighborhood in Palm Springs near his alleged kidnapper's home.
A suspect named Brandon Adams has since been charged with kidnapping for ransom with injury, strong arm robbery, carjacking, receiving stolen property, and taking a vehicle without the owner's consent. He currently remains in custody with bail set at slightly more than $500,000 and is due in court on June 24.
A friend of London's told Radar, "Jeremy said it was a terrorizing experience. He spent hours thinking he was going to die and he did what he had to do not to end up shot or dead."
The alleged crimes come at a tumultuous time in London's life. The former 7th Heaven cast member is currently going through a divorce from actress Melissa Cunningham (the two have a son, Lyrik, 3, together) and in May, the actor admitted to People that he entered rehab in September 2009. He told the magazine, "There were times I didn't care if I died. I felt like I was losing everything." In 2004, London was arrested for "allegedly driving with a suspended license and for carrying controlled substances."
