Clearly Patrick Dempsey is a man in love. Instead of jumping at the chance to cozy up to random models for his latest cologne ads, McDreamy cast his real-life wife as his leading lady.
People.com has an early peek at the ads for Patrick Dempsey 2, his second scent for Avon, and it looks like an outtake from the sultry "Wicked Game" video starring Helena Christensen and Chris Isaak.
Dempsey says the idea to have his wife, Jillian, as the campaign's costar was all his, despite the fact that she's the company's Creative Color Director. The people in charge of creating the ads wanted to bring in a model, but the Grey's Anatomy star wasn't having it.
"I’m married, and that’s not something I want to project,” he said. “Why can’t I just use my wife and make it about that?”
He explained how he bolstered his argument for having his real-life partner in the promotional materials for the sequel to last year's fragrance, Unscripted.
"The first was about the individual, following your passion and all of that," Dempsey said. “Why not take it to the next step and go, ‘This is about two people and the power of the relationship.’”
While photo shoots -- or any work with a significant other -- can be grueling, Dempsey said of the beachside pictures: “It was a nice moment for us to be together."
