Jason Segel may not have secured People's title for Sexiest Man Alive, but he did have the privilege of hosting Saturday Night Live for the first time on Nov. 19 with a little help from his good friend Paul Rudd.
Segel, 31, had already won over audiences with his monologue featuring Kermit, Piggy and their other Muppet pals, and a couple of sketches featuring The Muppets star as Antonio Banderas and the creator of a Tempur-Pedic bed knockoff -- but the night's biggest surprise was a cameo from Rudd, Segel's I Love You Man BFF in the "Kissing Family Thanksgiving" sketch. As always in the recurring sketch, a son (Segel) brings his girlfriend (Vanessa Bayer) home for the holidays, only to discover to her horror that the Vogelcheck family has a bizarre notion of what's an acceptable level of affection.
After Segel kisses and licks his parents (Kristen Wiig and Fred Armisen), brother (Bill Hader) and even a homeless visitor (Andy Samberg) for Thanksgiving, in walks Rudd's character, the family's other son.
"Sorry I'm late," Rudd tells the fictional family. "How was your flight, man?" he asks Segel. But instead of responding, Segel proceeds to make out with his "brother."
And thus Rudd turned a familiar gross-out sketch into one of the night's funniest moments. What can we say? Rudd and Segel just have great chemistry!
