Food Network star Paula Deen got a pretty unpleasant surprise Monday morning when she got hit in the face with a flying ham at a charity event in Atlanta! The southern butter-lover was representing Smithfield Foods at Hosea Feed the Hungry & Homeless, where she was helping to unload hams for a Thanksgiving donation, when the accident took place.
As a joke, someone threw a ham aiming for a storage bucket but, instead, hit the 62-year-old in the face. Paula, who got whacked on the nose, was "startled at first, but quickly regained focus and kept her humor," her rep said.
Paula later told a local station TV station that the ham "hit me full long in the face and 'bout knocked me cuckoo, but I'm fine."
We hope Paula's back in tip-top shape for the upcoming holiday.
