Recall date: November 16, 2012 Name of product: PeaPod and PeaPod Plus Travel Tents The Hazard: Babies and toddlers can become entrapped between the edge of the inflatable air mattress and the fabric sides of the tent, posing a suffocation hazard. The Consumer Product Safety Commission knows of the death of one baby who was found was his face pressed against the side of the tent (although the cause of death was undetermined); as well as nine other children in the U.S. and Canada who reportedly become entrapped or experienced "physical distress" while in the travel beds. Description: The recall involves about 220,000 travel tents -- small, portable sleep tents with a zippered side -- manufactured by KidCo Inc., of Libertyville, Ill. The travel beds were designed for use from birth to about 3 years, and were sold at specialty children's stores and online at amazon.com from January 2005 through the present for about $70 to $100. Recalled travel beds have the following model numbers and corresponding tent fabric colors: P100Teal, P101Red, P102Lime, P103Periwinkle, P104Ocean, P201Princess/Red, P202Camouflage, P203Quick Silver, P204Sagebrush, P205Cardinal, P900CSGreen. The model number can be found on a tag on the underside of the product.
