This is the best ranch dressing ever; one taste and you'll wonder why you ever need to buy pre-made dressing again. You can also add a touch of minced garlic to the recipe.
Rori Trovato
| 1/4 cup plain yogurt | 1/8 teaspoon black pepper | |
| 2 tablespoons milk | 1 to 2 romaine hearts (about 8 to 10 leaves) | |
| 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice | 1 red d'anjou pear, cored and cut into wedges | |
| 1 teaspoon dried herbs de Provence | 2 tablespoons toasted almonds | |
| 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt |
Combine all the dressing ingredients in a container with a fitted lid and shake. Can be made a day in advance and refrigerated.
Place the lettuce, pears and almonds in a large bowl and toss with the dressing. Place on a platter to share or 2 salad plates. Sprinkle with salt and pepper to taste. If you prefer, you can serve the salad with the dressing on the side.
