chime in nowCosting $578 million to build, Robert F. Kennedy Community Schools in Los Angeles is America's most expensive school system. The public schools, which will educate more than 4,000 students, grades K through 12, stands on the site of the former Ambassador Hotel, where Kennedy was shot in 1968. (The schools used some of the hotel's original tile and design details.)
Here, the auditorium, which has gilded pillars and an orchestra pit. It's just one of the school's features -- others include an Olympic-sized swimming pool, atrium and food court.
