The stars of the Twilight films will be the first to admit that dealing with the saga's wild popularity can be a challenge. From ultra-devoted fans to aggressive paparazzi, the success can be a bit of a walk on the wild side. But Peter Facinelli -- who plays nice-guy vampire Carlisle Cullen in The Twilight Saga: Eclipse (out in theaters June 30) -- tells iVillage exclusively that it's nice having a wife who can relate to the chaos.
"She had her own craziness with the 90210 experience," Facinelli says about actress Jennie Garth, his wife of nine years. "I think it's kind of fun that the same household has had two cultural phenomenons in one marriage."
Though Facinelli, 36, says his fame can't compare to that of the films' three stars (Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner), the actor has his share of eager fans. He even he had one admirer who tattooed his signature on her wrist, which the actor says he doesn't "advocate at all!"
Costar Nikki Reed, who plays vampire Rosalie Hale, tells iVillage she's amazed at the number of people who show up just to see them. "We all shoot in these particular locations and word spreads and people are aware of where we are. It is really incredible to see the population in that area grow for that period of time," says the 22-year-old actress. "It's kind of surreal."
Watch our exclusive video interview to hear the interesting (to say the least!) way the actors prepared for their vampire roles and the best Father's Day gift Facinelli ever got.
