The question of the summer continues to be the status of Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth's relationship. Are they still an engaged couple or not?
The answer is anyone's guess, as it seems to change from week to week. The rumors that this couple was over really began rumbling after Liam was spotted leaving an Oscars party with January Jones in February. Reports claimed that he cheated, and soon after, Miley was seen without her engagement ring.
The gossip persisted into March, forcing the singer to respond with: "I am so sick of La. And sick of the lies that come with it. I didn't call off my wedding," she tweeted, adding, "Taking a break from social media. #draining." But it appeared that Miley was taking a break from Liam as the Hunger Games actor took off to Australia and the singer began twerking for the whole world to see.
By May, the rumors of trouble in paradise hadn't died down, and Us Weekly reported that Liam's brothers, Chris and Luke, had even staged an intervention to get their sibling to break things off. We were not surprised -- between Miley's partying, almost-naked photo shoots and bizarre new music video, we could understand anyone being driven away.
Their relationship seemed to finally come to a conclusion when sources told Us that they had really split in May. But since then, Miley has continued to claim that they are still engaged, even being sure to flaunt her huge ring during an appearance on Ryan Seacrest's radio show on June 3. The duo was then seen catching a movie together on June 17. But other than that, the couple has rarely been spotted together in months.
That is, until now: It looks like they may have reunited in another country! A fan snapped this picture of the couple together in Alberta, Canada, on July 9.

What could this mean? Are they really back together... or are they just maybe "friends with benefits" at this point? We are on the edge of our seats. Maybe Liam will finally use his new Twitter account and fill us in!
