Next Celeb to Cut Off All Her Hair: Jennifer Lawrence

The "Hunger Games" star is the latest celeb to get scissor happy

When Miley did it, it was an act of rebellion. For Beyonce, it was fierce (and thanks to a pesky run-in with a motorized fan during a performance).

But now that Jennifer Hudson, Pamela Anderson and, most recently, Jennifer Lawrence are all sporting pixies, the super-short ‘do is officially a trend.

Perhaps the opposite of the long braid sported by her Hunger Games character Katniss Everdeen, Lawrence’s new cropped look is sleek and sophisticated.

The actress debuted her pixie via her Facebook page Wednesday, not addressing the haircut, but simply captioning the pic “Headed up north for #GLOBALFANDAY with The Hunger Games Catching Fire cast. Follow this page all day for updates!”

The image has nearly 50,000 “likes,” with more than 1,500 comments ranging from “awesome!” to “no!!!!!!”

Hollywood Life reports that during a Global Google+ Hangout Wednesday, Lawrence quipped that her pixie was an attempt to irk Hunger Games: Catching Fire director Francis Lawrence.

“I just did it to make Francis mad. I did it just to annoy him,” she said, according to the website. “He totally thought it was me giving him the finger. But it’s not. It’s just fried from being dyed so much.”

Jennifer Aniston, while not quite going pixie, also showed off shorter hair this week – a chin-length choppy bob – blaming a Brazilian blowout gone wrong.

For whatever reason, stars are getting scissor-happy, we think it’s great. As her pixie peer Miley Cyrus tweeted in response to Lawrence’s look: “I JLAW new hair cut #shorthairdontcare.”
