5 Fun Ways to Use Pinterest (Be Warned: It's Addictive!)

From fabulous decorating ideas to fun kid birthday party finds, Pinterest lets you organize and share the Web's best finds

Thinking of jumping on the Pinterest bandwagon? Well, we think you should! The virtual pinboard social networking site lets you organize and share all the great things you find all over the web. Plus, you'll get inspiration from everyone else's pins. To get you started, below are a few ways that iVillage staffers are using Pinterest (but don't say we didn't warn you: Pinterest is addictive. Once you start pinning, you won't be able to stop!).

1. Home Inspiration
If you can't afford a decorator, don't fear… Pinterest is here! Ad Sales Marketing Manager Liliana Andreano created a "Hip Happy House" board to document all the décor she wants to incorporate into her future house (or, as she puts it, where "I'll share my love of Fornasetti plates, killer plate combos, and divine décor"). Of course, pinning is the easy part. Actually turning your house into your dream home? Well, that may take more than just a few clicks of the mouse.

2. Dinner Ideas
Need some dinnertime inspiration? One of our favorite boards is "What's for Dinner?" In the mood for chicken? Search for it on Pinterest and you'll find plenty of recipes from other users. You can also create a menu board and move all of the meals you want to eat that week into that board. Try to group meals with similar ingredients to make creating your shopping list super easy. Or, if you just like looking at pretty food photos, Pinterest will keep you occupied for hours (we know, because it's happened to us). Plus, be sure to follow iVillage's Food Editor, Lisa Cericola for even more food ideas.

3. Children's Birthday Party Finds
Don't have the time to troll party stores while trying to create the best theme party for your kids? Neither does Liz Zack, our Pregnancy & Parenting Editorial Director. So Liz used Pinterest to search for rainbow inspired ideas from other users and ended up with more rainbow food than anyone could ever consume (Rainbow cupcakes! Rainbow fruit! Rainbow pops!), tons of rainbow décor and even rainbow birthday printables.

4. Workout Motivation
Losing weight isn't easy, but Pinterest can actually make it fun, and maybe even more doable. iVillage's Marketing Director Katie Zapata keeps a Diet Quotes board to help her stay in shape. Then, of course, there's also the opposite end of the spectrum. Ad Sales Project Manager Jamie Gerace has a Pinterest board called "If I Couldn't Get Fat…" We can only dream, right?

5. Wedding Planning
Getting ready to say "I do"? Senior Marketing Director Lisa Kolodny planned her entire wedding on Pinterest. From the cakes she liked, to centerpieces that made her squeal, to the earrings she'd wear with her dress, every detail was inspired by something she pinned. Pinterest is a great way to collect beautiful wedding images and keep them all in one place, which means you won't even have to spend money on a wedding organizer. And now, Lisa's using her Pinterest account to plan her honeymoon!
