In a Nutshell: During the 1960s, a pirate radio station off the British coast actually played controversial rock ‘n’ roll like The Beatles and The Rolling Stones around the clock unlike the more sedate BBC. In reaction, Her Majesty’s Government demanded the airwaves be silenced at all costs to protect the nation’s moral fiber. Released in Britain as The Boat That Rocked, now substantially re-cut, the ensemble comedy starring Philip Seymour Hoffman and Bill Nighy features a terrific soundtrack -- and a lot of soul.
Rated: R
For You: Lots of fun from Love Actually's director, Richard Curtis.
For Kids:Definitely not!
