Pirate Radio, the new comedy from Richard Curtis (Love Actually, Notting Hill, Four Weddings and a Funeral), tells the high-spirited story of eight renegade DJs whose love affair with rock 'n' roll changed the world forever. In 1966, when the British government banned rock 'n' roll from the radio, these DJs took to the high seas to broadcast 24/7, infuriating officials while cultivating a following of millions. Leading the band of rebels are American DJ The Count (Academy Award Winner Philip Seymour Hoffman); Quentin, the boss of Radio Rock; and Young Carl, who comes of age amidst the chaos of sex, drugs and rock 'n' roll. The film features music from The Who, The Kinks, Cream and The Rolling Stones.
