Farm-to-Fork in the Midwest

The destination: The Midwest, from Illinois to Iowa
The experience: Learn Great Foods (www.learngreatfoods.com) has a simple philosophy: To explore the natural link between sustainable farming, great cooking, and the environment. They offer tours through the Midwest, from picking blueberries and nectarines to wild game weekends of bison and venison.
Bite into a just-picked peach, and let the juice dribble down your chin. Sniff a freshly cured sheep's cheese in an organic cheese cave. Eat pulled pork so tender that it parts with a nudge of the fork.
Memorable moment: Preparing an al fresco meal with local produce, followed by frothy brews at the Grumpy Troll Brewpub in Wisconsin. Cost: From $50 (for a tour) to $225 (for a weekend retreat).
