Postpartum: Blood Pressure Still Elevated
I recently gave birth by cesarean, due to pregnancy induced hypertension (PIH). It's been two weeks since the birth and my blood pressure is still a little high. When can I expect my blood pressure to return to normal?

Pregnancy induced hypertension can be an indication of blood pressure problems not associated with pregnancy so I think it would be a good idea to have this checked out. You may need to take a medication to lower your blood pressure.
Sometimes the effects of pregnancy linger beyond delivery and although most of the time the drop in blood pressure is quite dramatic after the baby is born, in some it continues to be elevated.
It would be a good idea to go back to your provider to have your blood pressure checked and perhaps have a kidney workup done.
