Second Trimester! Month 4 (Weeks 13-16)

-- Hit the multiplex this week! As the weeks go on, sitting for two hours in one place may get a little uncomfortable, so get those blockbusters in now! Learn other things you didn't know about being pregnant.

-- Schedule as many of your doctors appointments as you can as far out as you can (especially the ultrasound or possible amino) so you get the times that are most convenient to you. As soon as you book them, make sure your partner has them on his calendar so he can be there too (then send him this advice).

-- Take a look at your life insurance and disability insurance policies now and see if anything needs adjusting.

-- Take a look at your budget and think about where you may be able to cut back a bit before baby arrives.

-- Once your secret is out, get in touch with your HR department at work about applying for short-term disability or other maternity leave benefits at your company.

-- Buy (and use) sunscreen: Pregnancy hormones may cause your skin to develop dark patches called chloasma. Sun exposure can make it darker. Find out about other changes in your skin during pregnancy.

-- Start looking around for the big gear: the crib, changing table, and stroller. If you’ve lined up a crib to borrow, make sure it's still safe. There have been millions of cribs recalled in the last few years.
