Rob and I had decided to share the wonderful news with our families provided everything looked okay. We’d planned a trip to visit our families on Friday, but hadn’t yet figured out how to break the news in a fun, exciting way. We finally decided to take our ultrasound picture to a Kodak machine, scan it, add a baby carriage border and a text message, and with Jacob’s help, wrap the pictures for our families. We told them we’d just received “the best picture of the baby ever taken” and presented them with the package. Jacob was wonderful in adding to the suspense by telling each set of grandparents individually that he was our baby. We actually had one set of grandparents ask why we’d give them the ultrasound picture of Jacob nearly two years after it was taken! Imagine the shock when we told them that it wasn’t Jacob!
So, the week closed on the happiest of notes. Jacob survived being left with friends for the first time in his life, the baby appears to be doing well, and, to top thing off, our offer on the house was accepted. Now I just need to get beyond this silly morning sickness and get the house packed in an organized fashion!
