Pregnancy is one of those things that people can tell you all about, but until you experience it for yourself, you can't fully understand all the crazy things your body is in for. Take Christina Applegate, for instance. The first time mom-to-be is getting a crash course in what it's like to be expecting -- and some of the lessons are not all that pleasant.
"Everything you read in the books, I got it all," she said Tuesday on Jimmy Kimmel Live! "The cravings ... the morning sickness, I had for a really long time, the psychosis. The morning sickness is so bad, Oh, my God!"
Applegate, who's engaged to musician Martyn Lenoble, admits that being pregnant has definitely made her "a little cuckoo."
"(I'm) yelling for no reason, it's out of control...It's almost out of body," she explained. "You're stepping back from yourself and you're watching this insane monster in front of you that's you. And you want to stop her, but she is kind of fun to watch. That's sort of what's been happening."
Isn't this what we've always loved about the actress who we've watched evolve since her days on Married...with Children? She's real and honest and, not to mention, brave. In 2008, Applegate underwent a double mastectomy, after being diagnosed with breast cancer.
"Sometimes I cry. Sometimes I scream, and I get really angry and I get really into wallowing in self-pity sometimes, and I think it's all part of healing," she admitted after having the surgery.
Fortunately, the 38-year-old has been cancer-free for the last two years, and she's preparing to start a family. And what a role model she is going to be!
