Jennifer Garner: We’ll Help You Jump-Start Labor and Get That Baby Out!

It’s the final countdown for the ever-glowing, ever-growing Jennifer Garner: Baby number three is about to join sisters Violet, 6, and Seraphina, 3. And by the looks of it (whoa, belly!) and the sound of it, she’s soooo ready to push this baby out. In late January she quipped to Jay Leno that she felt 17.5 months pregnant. Reports put Jen's due date anywhere from the end of February to the beginning of March, so we thought it would be the perfect time to offer Jen some pointers on getting that sweet thing here already. Here, Jen, some tips from us to you to jump-start labor:

Have sex. While there's no scientific proof sex starts labor, there's a good theory why it might: Semen contains prostaglandins, which are similar to the labor-inducing meds used in the hospital. Plus, orgasm releases oxytocin, which cause the uterus to contract. (Note: Self-love can do that, too!)

Go herbal. It’s thought that evening primrose oil may help the cervix thin and dilate. If your doctor or midwife gives you the green light (certain moms should avoid the herb, likes those with placenta previa), you can rub the oil directly onto your cervix during the last weeks of pregnancy.

Stimulate your nips. Massaging and gently twisting your nipples can help your body release the hormone oxytocin, which stimulates contractions.

Walk around. At the very least, walking can help get your baby settled into your pelvis. Plus, it will make you feel better.

Acupuncture. So far, scientific evidence is conflicting. But experts do agree that acupuncture can be relaxing -- which in and of itself may help bring labor on.
