Prepare to Be Annoyed - 'Fred: The Movie' Comes to Nickelodeon

Warning to all parents, the web character Fred Figglehorn is getting his own movie -- Fred:The Movie -- which will air on Nickelodeon Sept. 17th.  You may be asking yourself, “Who is this Fred, and why am I being warned of his impending flick?”  Fred, a character developed and portrayed by teen Lucas Cruikshank, may be one of the most annoying personas ever created.  Though Cruikshank is actually sixteen, he's had enormous internet success playing the hyperactive 6-year-old Fred. His trademark is a fast talking high-pitched voice, which he uses to whine aggressively at just about everything.  If your kids are iCarly or YouTube fans, they’ve seen Fred -- and if they’ve seen Fred, they probably like him.  The same qualities that will irk and bother anyone over 18 have the younger generation glued to their screens and clamoring for more.

I guess I should give Cruikshank some credit.  Fred may be a tantrum-throwing nuisance, but Cruikshank is a brilliant teen, who has capitalized on his creativity and technical abilities. He's made over 60 "Fred" videos, some of which have been viewed over 10 million times.  Not bad for a crying 6-year-old boy who I’d pay not to babysit!  So, whether you choose to tune in to Fred: The Movie on Sept. 17th or not is up to you, but don't say I didn't warn you!
