President Obama to Be Guest on David Letterman

If you wanted to know why President Obama called Kanye West a "jackass," set your DVR's on Monday night for his appearance on the Late Show With David Letterman.

After spending the day before appearing on Sunday morning talk shows on ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN and Univision, Obama will end his health care television blitz on a lighter note, we hope.

Obama became the first sitting President to appear on a late night talk show in March when he appeared on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.

It marks the first time Obama has been on with David Letterman since the election last November. While campaigning, Obama was no stranger to the Ed Sullivan Theater, making five appearances on the show.

And for Letterman, what better time to have the President on as your only guest for the evening after the sound bite floating around the Internet with Obama giving his candid opinion on West’s actions at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards.

With such an overdose of Obama over a span of 24 hours, is this going to be an eventual case of overkill? I prefer that he’s doing his round of interviews and appearances on Sunday morning and late night instead of interrupting the upcoming fall television lineup, but how much is too much?
