Backed by A High-Profile Advisory Board, iVillage Cares Will Amplify Key Women's Issues and Build Support for Important Causes of Concern to Women. Early Contributors Include Trudie Styler, Mariska Hargitay, Marlo Thomas, Arianna Huffington and Liz Lange

New York, NY, March 28, 2007 - iVillage, the largest online destination for women with 16 million members, announced today the launch of iVillage Cares, a national advocacy program designed to build awareness and support for causes of concern to women. iVillage Cares already involves some of the nation's most prominent women in healthcare, education and women's advocacy.

The launch takes place in conjunction with the release of results from a new national poll examining Women and Online Advocacy, conducted for iVillage by GfK Roper Public Affairs & Media, which found that the use of the Internet is playing an increasingly significant role in the daily lives of women and their involvement in charitable causes. Among other results, the poll found that 79% of online women agree that the ease of using the Internet has made people more likely to get involved and support the social causes and charities they care about; 73% have searched the Internet for activities or organizations with which they could get involved*, and 70% of all women agree the Internet makes it more likely they will learn more about local charities.

Starting today, women around the country will have their voices heard at iVillage.com/iVillageCares. Celebrities including Trudie Styler, Mariska Hargitay, Marlo Thomas, Arianna Huffington, Liz Lange and Angie Harmon among others will help kick-off the launch by posting a personal blog entry on iVillage Cares to highlight an organization or cause that they support and what inspired them to give back. For example, Laurie David, activist and producer of the Oscar-winning film "An Inconvenient Truth", has expressed her commitment to the environment by addressing the dangers of global warming and offering a link to her non-partisan organization www.StopGlobalWarming.org. An online forum will highlight issues ranging from childhood obesity to breast cancer research to homelessness and powerful statistics to accompany each. iVillage Cares will bring these issues to the forefront and give women an opportunity to connect with other women through common causes, become informed and take action. An iCommit section invites women to take the first step by posting to the community about the causes closest to them, pledging their efforts and sharing ideas and suggestions on how others get involved.

"iVillage has always had a heart - for over a decade, women have come here to share ideas, find support and connect on the issues they care about. Now, iVillage Cares will mobilize women worldwide, from Detroit to Darfur, with passion and influence, to champion these issues which are, in many cases, underserved," said Deborah Fine, President of iVillage. "By harnessing the power of our Advisory Board and our 16 million members, we will do more than care. We will make an impact."

IVillage has assembled an Advisory Board of influential women to assist in proposing and advancing these key issues. Members include: Victoria Budson, Executive Director, Women & Public Policy, JFK School of Government, Harvard University; Beth Dozoretz, Senior Vice President, Value Options Healthcare; Carmen Dubroc, President, Board of Directors, Girl Scout Council of Greater New York; Rhoda Glickman, former Deputy Chief of Staff, U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development; Karenna Gore-Schiff, well-known author; Phyllis Greenberger, President, Women's Health Research Society; Patricia Harrison, President & CEO, The Corporation for Public Broadcasting; Cheryl Healton, President & CEO, The American Legacy Foundation; Dr. Bernadine Healy, Health Editor for U.S. News & World Report and former Director of the National Institutes of Health; Carlotta Jacobson, CEO, Cosmetic Executive Women; Georgette Mosbacher, President & CEO, Borghese; Benita Fitzgerald Mosley, President & CEO, Women in Cable Telecommunications; Jacqueline Novogratz, CEO, Acumen Fund; Donna E. Shalala, President, University of Miami; Dr. Debra Somers-Copit, Albert Einstein Medical Center and Marie Wilson, President and Founder, The White House Project.

Each advisory board member will blog regularly for iVillage Cares on issues of importance to women and provide "featured" organizations for women to get involved with. Benita Fitzgerald Mosley, a former Olympic Gold medalist who has lobbied for compliance with Title IX, a law that provides millions of sports and educational opportunities for women and girls, offers the Women's Sports Foundation at www.womenssportsfoundation.org as a resource. Rhoda Glickman, a longtime advocate for providing International women in need with the job skills and training required to rebuild their lives, suggests Women For Women International at www.womenforwomen.org as a resource for helping women in war-torn countries get back on their feet. And Carlotta Jacobson, CEO of Cosmetic Executive Women, started www.CancerandCareers.org after five powerful women in the beauty business came to her with concerns about their own cancer diagnoses and how they could maintain their careers and receive treatment simultaneously.

"There is no more potent force than networks of women sharing common concerns and causes. iVillage Cares offers a place where we can network on behalf of causes dear to us. And on this, I value the opportunity to highlight the good work of the American Cancer Society which I support for its work in research, education and patient advocacy," said Dr. Bernadine Healy, M.D., health editor and columnist at U.S.News & World Report and author of Living Time: Faith and Facts to Transform Your Cancer Journey.

iVillage Cares will be fueled by iVillage's new Social Networking platform, iVillage Connect, which will allow women to create their own profiles based on the issues they care about, share thoughts and ideas on these issues and form community sub-groups based on their home town, circulate local news, online petitions and other content virally. For example, a "World Hunger" group could be created, its members posting/sharing everything from locations of volunteer-run soup kitchens to links to the UN's World Food Program to an online petition on homelessness presented to local elected officials. A "Military Moms" group might share tips on how to keep in touch, ideas for care packages and links to news on the status of U.S. troops. Each iVillage Cares Advisory Board member will have a profile on the site and will contribute with blogs and suggested ways to make a difference in big and small ways.

"I am excited to be part of this exciting new iVillage initiative. There is power in numbers - some of the outstanding issues affecting women today require a greater support that can only be found when we come together. We have an opportunity to help change women's lives today and well into the future," said Benita Fitzgerald Mosley, President & CEO, Women in Cable Telecommunications.

"What a great opportunity it is to be part of something that will transform women's lives. I am thrilled to be part of iVillage Cares and look forward to working alongside such a talented group," said Georgette Mosbacher, President & CEO of Borghese.
