New York, NY - June 21, 2007 - Deborah Fine, President of iVillage Properties, today announced the appointment of Michael Gutkowski to the iVillage leadership team as Chief Operating Officer. Reporting to Fine, Gutkowski is charged with implementing the company's strategic path and for managing day-to-day operations for all iVillage Properties, including iVillage.com, iVillage UK, iVillage Total Health, Astrology.com, GardenWeb and gURL.com. He will begin on July 16th.
"Michael has a great track record of taking strategy and turning it into a business of scale," said Fine. "He joins us at a time of great momentum and growth, with traffic up 13% year-over-year and first quarter ad sales up 46%, outpacing the industry by 56%. Currently, Gutkowski is serving as Senior Vice President, Digital, for Southern Progress Corporation, a Time, Inc. division, where he was instrumental in helping to define and execute the digital strategy for the division. Most recently, Southern Progress Corporation successfully launched MyRecipes.com, a food portal leveraging best-in-class content from brands such as Cooking Light and Southern Living magazines.

Gutkowski spent a combined 14 years with Martha Stewart Living Omnimed ia, most recently as Vice President/General Manager for the Internet division. In this role, he drove the strategic transition of the internet business from an ecommerce-centric experience to a robust advertising-based lifestyle portal. During his tenure at MSLO, Gutkowski served in various digital leadership roles, including Vice President, Internet Marketing & Business Development, Vice President, Internet Business Development & Operations, and Marketing Development Director. Gutkowski was recognized for his innovation and creativity when marthastewart.com won Adweek's "Best Branded" website award.
From 2002-2004, Gutkowski left MSLO briefly to serve as Vice President, Marketing and e-Commerce for Newport News, Inc., leading the multi-channel retailer's marketing and internet operations, before returning to MSLO to lead its Internet Division.
Gutkowski's hire comes on the heels of iVillage's new SVP, Editor In Chief joining the leadership team in May 2007. Jennie Baird took on the lead editorial role for iVillage's lifestyle content after overseeing AOL's women's and lifestyle programming for five years.
