In this episode, we realize that Irina's not a nice person, Gordana is a little wacky and Nicolas hearts Bob Mackie. I feel so much closer to the designers now—I’ve learned so much, Ysolt says sarcastically. Okay, nothing too exciting happened.
The designers meet Bob Mackie and he tells them about their challenge: to create a stagelook for Christina Aguilera in two days with a $300 budget.
Shine, sheen, feathers and fur were purchased at mood, and the designers conceptualized garments that kind of reminded me of ice skating costumes.
While in the workroom, Irina starts hating on Carol Hannah's fabric choices. Okay, so the sequins weren’t so hot—they were a little cheap-looking—but she had a good idea for a dress. Christopher decides to create what he calls an '80s prom look with a beaded corset. (Ummm, what?! Tim told him it was “Halloween.”
Logan, on the other hand, decides to make a zebra-print number. Sounds like that dress would be suited for Christina... circa 1999! He seems to be smitten by Carol Hannah. “Am I distracting you?” he flirts. “Logan’s my friend ... who’s really hot and it’s really distracting,” she blushes to the camera. Gotta love a workroom romance!
And oh no, Gordana's beads are coming off her fabric and she becomes frazzled. On day two, she decides to start from scratch! Uh oh. And that’s when Gordana loses it (as in, she goes out of her mind). Thank goodness she has immunity. During judging, Heidi told her that if she didn't, there would've been a good chance she would be gone.
As much as we dislike Irina’s bad attitude and love Shirin, the 1940's Hollywood glamour ensemble that Shirin made was kind of a hot mess so we’re not surprised she got the boot. "Irina is a really good designer. The only problem with her is that she's a bitch," says Nicolas. And boy, is he right! "The blonde one annoys the sh** out of me... If you're going to be mediocre, then have a better personality," Irina says. (Wow—what’s with this girl?)
In the end, Carol Hannah won. Maybe good things do happen to good people, after all? The judges and Christina Aguilera loved the gown’s textures of blacks—shiny and matte. “It was a wow dress that doesn't look cheap,” the judges point out.
The Most Memorable Looks: Shirin's long gown (which was a hot mess), Carol Hannah's feather-y gown (which was so elegant and intricate), Christopher's corset and hot pants number (not cute, so tack), Nicolas’ white mini dress with feathers
Who Won: Carol Hannah
Who Might Go Next Episode: Christopher has not impressed judges much lately
