I think we all knew this was coming. Even though he has only been alive for 21 years (and, ahem, there's nothing wrong with that), he sure has more talent than any of the other contestants. Christian took the title of winner of Project Runway Season 4 last night, and I sure was not surprised.
His collection was simply stronger than Jillian and Rami's, which was the case in almost every episode. Lesson to be learned: big things come in small... very small packages.
First, the three final contestants, Jillian, Rami and Christian had to do a model casting for their show at Bryant Park. Rami and Christian were perfectly content with their choices, but Jillian was second guessing her's. She asked to replace the model she chose with another one- what a confidence booster for the model to say the least!
She was told that there was just no time to go back and pick another model that suited her interests better, so Jillian was stuck with her original choice. Tough luck. While she freaked out a little and really focused on the negative, she finally snapped out of it and got back into the game. There was no time for sulking now.
The three prepared their collection, fit their models, and received feedback from Tim, per usual. The models were made up, blown out, and dressed up, and it was finally time for the Fashion Week at Bryant Park. This was what thousands of designers had been hoping to get to in the beginning of the season during tryouts, but these three were the luckiest of them all. They were actually there!
Greeted by a full house of spectators, one slip up was not going to go unnoticed. It wasn't just Heidi and three judges any longer, it was the real deal. It was hundreds of more big time designers who were hoping for something new, innovative, and chic.
Guest judge Victoria Beckham was there to help critique the designers' outfits.
While Jillian and Rami both had spectacularly stunning work, Christian took home a spread in Elle magazine, a 2008 Saturn, and $100,000 to start his own line. We'll see where he is in a few months!
What does everyone think? Should Christian have won? I loved Jillian, but her designs just weren't as strong as Christian's, I must admit. Even though he's a loud mouth and a pain, boy, has he got talent.
Until next season!
