Before storing or donating a prom dress, get it professionally cleaned to remove any stains or spills, which can degrade the fabric over time. If you’re storing the dress hanging up, choose a non-plastic garment bag and secure it at the waist to avoid damaging the straps and keep the dress in a cool, dry place.
