Puppies: Making a Break for It

When you open the door, he runs outside and won't come back.

Solution: More than likely this is the behavior of an untrained puppy. When the door opens and he runs out, he thinks being outside is the greatest thing in the world. Maybe he won't come back in because of the way you are calling him. The tone of your voice may be too harsh, but the solution to this problem is very easy. Before opening the door, be certain the puppy is on a leash and collar. This will give you the means to retrieve the little escape artist or, perhaps, prevent him from leaving in the first place.
