The period between Thanksgiving and Christmas is always so hectic. In between holiday get-togethers, there are decorations to put up, cards to write, gifts to buy and wrap and houses to clean. With so little time and so much to do, it can be hard to keep your house as clean as you would like. So what should you do when you're expecting guests but the house is a mess? Check out these tips from Real Simple for how you can make your house look clean when you're short on time.
- Reserve one side of sofa cushions to be shown to guests. Before company arrives, flip over the cushions to reveal good-as-new fabric. When guests are gone, flip them back.
- Cover up the lingering aroma of last night's supper by boiling nutmeg, cloves, or cinnamon and orange peels in a sauce-pan on the stove.
- Hang a fluffy bathrobe on top of damp towels dangling from the hooks on the back of the bathroom door.
