Yes, we know Rachel McAdams and Ryan Gosling broke off their engagement all the way back in 2007. Yes, we know The Notebook is just a movie. And yes, we know that both actors have seemingly moved on from their too-good-to-be-true relationship. But here's the thing: We don't care, because these two are destined to get back together.
Seriously, that's what The Notebook was all about, right? Two lovers separated by time and distance who still somehow manage to find one another again against all odds. Sure, that's pretty much the plot of every Nicholas Sparks story (albeit with some sort of epic twist), but in this case we want desperately to believe that sort of love story can happen in real life, too.
