Like all children, spirited kids need to keep their blood sugar steady in order to stave off crashes and tantrums. Kurcinka recommends six small meals each day: breakfast, a balanced mid morning snack with protein and starch, lunch, a mid-afternoon snack, dinner, and a bedtime snack. (If you’re going to be out of the house, make sure to bring the snacks with you to dole out throughout the day.) This gives your child the chance to recharge every couple of hours.
