To make the day’s transitions easier, Kurcinka recommends storyboarding, or creating a map of your child's day in pictures. This way, when you say it’s time to get on the potty and she says she doesn’t want to, you can point to the list and ask, “Well, what does this say we do now?” Make poster boards that break down your regular morning, afternoon and evening activities. No artistic talent is required: Cut pictures out of magazines, or search for clip art online.
