The popular young-adult novel Beezus and Ramona, first published in 1955, focused on big sister Beezus' chronic frustration with her pest of a little sis. One of Cleary's follow-up books, Ramona Forever, inspired the film starring Selena Gomez as Beezus and Joey King as Ramona. In an exclusive iVillage interview, Gomez confessed she had a lot in common with mischievous Ramona Quimby as a child: "I was always talking to people, always trying to be the life of the party....and (I was) very loud!"
