Of all the Real Housewives installments, the version set in Atlanta always scores the highest ratings.
Then again, you might also call this a dubious achievement. The truth is, people tend to like these series for their stars' outlandishly bad behavior. Is The Real Housewives of Atlanta rated highest because its cast -- Kandi Burruss, NeNe Leakes, Sheree Whitfield, Kim Zolciak and Lisa Wu Hartwell -- is the most prone to gossiping and right-up-in-your-grill scream fests? Well, yeah.
So without further ado, let's bring on some more. Season 3 premieres Monday at 10 p.m. ET on Bravo. Hartwell is no longer part of the main cast, though she'll make some cameos. And two new wives, model Cynthia Bailey and lawyer Phaedra Parks, have joined the group. It's not clear whether the ridiculously attractive Bailey will bring much drama to the season, but Parks has arrived on the scene with instant baggage -- in the form of her ex-con husband and the baby in her belly (whose conception date she doesn't seem to know). "I'm thinking, 'Bitch, you don't know when you got knocked up?'" says Whitfield in the season 3 promo, while the others ruminate on how a lawyer ended up with a criminal.
Based on the coming attractions, Leakes will continue to be the Teresa Giudice of her season, picking fights with castmates so that she can blow her fuse at least once an episode. And this season, she will turn her guns on her husband, Greg. Whitfield no longer appears to be designing clothes; her latest pipe dream is the acting profession. The never-humble Kim, who apparently is now bisexual, is moving forward with her pop-music career. "Kim has one single, and she's acting like she's Lady Gaga," snipes Kandi, who's struggling to keep her own pop music career going.
Yep, sounds like highest-rated Housewives are back and better than ever.
The Real Housewives of Atlanta premieres Oct. 4 at 10 p.m. ET.
