Yet another Real Housewives cast is about to reunite after a season of acrimony and ill will. Bravo's Watch What Happens: Miami Housewives Reunion will air on April 5 at 9 p.m. ET. But this one arrives with a twist: It's live.
Imagine some of the past reunion shows -- with, say, the women of New Jersey or New York City -- if they'd been live. Host and executive producer Andy Cohen was barely able to contain the animosity (and in one case, actual violence) that erupted over the several hours of taping. Will Cohen be able to restrain the bickering and ill will among Miami castmates Lea Black, Marysol Patton, Adriana DeMoura, Alexia Echevarria, Cristy Rice and Larsa Pippen? Will Patton's brazen mother, Elsa, crash the party? Will anyone spill a deep, dark secret in a moment of rage?
Bravo is probably more worried that the opposite will happen. In the time allotted, with live cameras running, will the women fail to pump up the conflict? Without editing, will the ladies generate much excitement? After all, reception to the first season of The Real Housewives of Miami has been lukewarm. And there's plenty of buzz that its first season will be its last. But at least it could go out with some she- said she-said fireworks -- and, fingers crossed, an appearance by everyone's favorite vibe-reading mama, Elsa.
