We admit, we were a little concerned that the drama would be gone from The Real Housewives of New Jersey after Danielle Staub took a hike. But oh, how wrong we were! Bravo has revealed its season 3 preview for the Real Housewives of New Jersey, and the cast is just as feisty as ever: fighting over Christmas cookies, whooping over male strippers and sniping at each other while they lounge on the beach in giant hats. Watch the preview below!
The big change in season 3 -- which premieres May 16 at 9 p.m. ET on Bravo -- is the addition of two cast members, both of whom are connected to table-tipping mother-of-four Teresa Giudice. Kathy Wakile is Teresa's first cousin and the party-loving mother of two teenagers. Melissa Gorga is Teresa's sister-in-law (she's married to Joe Giudice's brother), the mother of three children under the age of 6 -- and, if the preview is any indication, an amateur pop singer.
Here's the catch, though: Teresa's relatives aren't exactly on her team. You may recall the rumors that Teresa threatened to leave the show when she learned that Gorga had signed on. More than once in the preview, it looks like Gorga is challenging Teresa's role as the show's Italian princess. And the cousin seems unimpressed with Teresa's lavish lifestyle, too -- not to mention her husband, "Juicy" Joe Giudice.
"I don't even get that whole 'juicy' thing," Wakile sniffs in the preview. "He seems a little dried-up, if you ask me."
During the trailer, we see clips of the ladies' trip to the Dominican Republic (where cast members were reportedly involved in a huge bar fight), a few rowdy parties and some heated family arguments. One thing that's notably absent: any mention of the Giudices declaring bankruptcy, a story that dominated tabloid headlines last year. Can Teresa handle two new housewives with chips on their shoulders and the government reclaiming all her possessions? We know she's a fighter, so we'd suggest you all fasten your seatbelts -- it's going to be a wild ride in New Jersey this season.
