Real Housewives of NYC Episode Recap

On this week's The Real Housewives of NYC...

While watching the recap of what previously happened, they showed a clip of Alex saying, "Jill is a very valuable contact to have."

Jill's a contact. Not a friend. Surprise, surprise. These women so do not care about each other.

Okay back to this week's episode...

Awkward! Bethenny was set to meet up with Alex at the market to give her some tips about natural cooking and help find recipes to get her boys to eat meat. Bethenny, however, was beyond agitated. Turned out that five minutes before Alex showed up, Bethenny broke up with her boyfriend Jason.

Bethenny thought she and Jason were at a turning point in their relationship. Remember last week when she wanted to talk about moving in? Well this week she wanted to know if in two years he'd be ready to have kids with her. Wowza. Jason couldn't give her an answer so Bethenny ended it, as she wants to be able to have kids in the very near future. As Bethenny said, when she didn't hear the exact answer she wanted to hear, her reaction was to run... which is exactly what she did... to Miami.

Though Bethenny and Alex aren't that great of friends, it was very nice of Alex to sit back and listen to Bethenny vent, especially because all she wanted to do was shop at the market.

And we're on to the housewife you love to hate... Ramona! Daughter Avery goes to a same-sex school and it's time for her first coed dance of the year. In honor of the event, Ramona took Avery and her friends to the salon to get pampered. Avery's friends absolutely love Ramona, thinking she's so cool, but poor Avery just can't stand it. "Sometimes the 'in things' don't look good on her, but yet she wears it anyway," Avery said of her mother. Love it.

After the salon Ramona took the girls for tea where she gave them advice about boys: that they're more nervous than the girls are. I wonder how the other mothers feel about this... Then Ramona took the girls home to try on their dance outfits and practice some dance moves. Ramona seemed shocked by the way the girls were able to move their bodies, and she quickly tried to follow suit. I have to give Ramona some credit - she definitely likes to pamper her daughter and show her friends a good time. Though sometimes she just seems a little out of whack.

Does anyone else find it insane/fascinating that LuAnn's son is taking private breakdancing lessons? Apparently it's because it's a "big, tough world out there," so it's important to LuAnn that her son Noel become well rounded, by, well, breakdancing.

As annoying as Simon and Alex can be with their extreme attached at the hip characteristics, it was sweet that Simon put together a cute surprise party for her on a boat. It was also extremely thoughtful that Simon, knowing Bethenny was hurting over her breakup, invited her to join the festivities. Unfortunately Bethenny started to get increasingly drunk, to the point that Simon and Alex felt the need to pull her aside. Now that's just embarrassing. It did get a little awkward though when Bethenny started to unload on the couple - Simon and Alex were like a little therapist duo. Unfortunately again, Bethenny, during her interviews, continuously put down Simon and Alex. I think they were trying to do a good thing, and Bethenny really didn't seem to appreciate it.

Bethenny decides to fly to Miami to get away. Jill tries to dissuade her, saying she's running way, but Bethenny isn't having it. In Miami Bethenny meets up with her friend of 23 years, Sarah. Sarah continuously tells Bethenny that her eggs are getting stale, so if she wants to have kids, she better hurry. Lovely.

The one thing I love about Ramona is that she really preaches financial independence. (I'm liking Ramona this episode, huh?) She stresses to Avery how important it is to have a good job so that she will never have to rely on a man for money. I'm impressed.

On next week's Real Housewives, Simon crashes an all girls party and Ramona's back to her evil self.
