If you've been holding your breath for the follow-up to "Money Can't Buy You Class," then it's time to exhale! Countess LuAnn de Lesseps of Real Housewives of New York City fame has premiered her new single, "Chic C'est La Vie." Watch the video -- featuring Jill Zarin and Kelly Bensimon -- right here!
Like nearly every other single by a Housewives cast member, Countess LuAnn's song is an ode to the wealth, partying, and the glamour of being a cable reality star. "Gold, diamonds, caviar," the Countess coos, "life is but a dream when every day you're living in is featured on TV." (Actually, the lyrics remind us a lot of "I Am Real," Simon van Kempen's single from earlier this year ... although we're glad we don't know LuAnn personally, because she would probably kill us for saying that.) However, in what we believe is a first for a Housewife single, the Countess' song actually contains shout-outs to her castmates:
Jill bring your jewelry!
Cindy bring those crystals!
Ramona bring that Pinot!
Sonja, her men!
Kelly, the jelly beans!
Alex and Simon, and I’ll bring the diamonds!
And yet if she's singing about all these ladies (and Simon), why aren't they in the video? The Countess tells PopEater that she asked them to do it -- and only Kelly and Jill agreed. Awkward!
"The other girls didn't come, they didn't think it was appropriate," says LuAnn. "They said it was not the right image they wanted to portray and I was like 'excuse me, not the right image?' Who goes out without their panties, another rubs her husbands naked chest on the show, please."
Honestly, though, we're kind of glad that only Jill and Kelly said yes -- because it gives us more time to appreciate Jill Zarin's dance moves. (Doesn't she look like one of the extras in Rebecca Black's "Friday" video?) Then again, fewer things are more entertaining than hearing Countess LuAnn talk-rap...
